A quick search could save you a lot of money
These days, you can get just about anything on the internet. If you need a polka dotted winter coat or a 9 foot, neon green canopy for your backyard cookout, it’s just a quick search away. And for many, shopping online has its benefits over shopping from store to store. Not only can you do so from the convenience of your home clad in last night’s pjs, you also have access to a company’s entire stock instead of what one particular store has to offer. According to Statista, revenue from online purchases has increased by 150 BILLION DOLLARS since 2010. Not million, BILLION!!!!!! So, it’s pretty obvious that people are taking advantage of the convenience.
What does this mean for the bargain specialist in you and me? It’s obviously impossible to scan your coupon from home and handing them to the cashier to check you out isn’t an option either. Until that technology is invented, we have to settle for different ways to save. But there is still one major way to bargain even while shopping online. The one stop shop for every bargain specialist who is online shopping is GOOGLE. One simple search for a coupon code specific to your retailer could save you a lot of money. Most sites will offer some kind of coupon – 10, 25 or even 40% off a purchase meeting certain requirements. So, open up another tab and search for a coupon code before you click ‘confirm this purchase.’
My family recently moved to a larger house and needed an additional office chair. I got an email from Office Depot offering half-off office furniture for 12 hours. I searched for and found a cute and functional-looking chair in pink. Of course I wanted it! Original retail was $129.99 and it was on sale for $54.99 during the 12 hour time frame. I put it in my cart and was skeptical about the possibility of a coupon code working with a flash sale. I searched Google for one anyway and found many. With quick calculations in my head, I found the best option to be $10 off a $50 purchase. I put in the code and IT WORKED! I was so excited! Then an option popped up that if I buy it within the next 5 mintues, they would take an additional $5 off my purchase. Of course I stumbled to quickly input my payment information. I purchased a $129 office chair for $40!!!!
At another point, my husband was re-ordering checks for us from the bank website. After all the specifications, the total came up to well over $120. For checks?!?!?! No way. A quick search for checks brought us to checksinthemail.com. After all our selections, the total came to a little over $70. Not bad but, we could do better. My husband started to pay and I asked, have you searched for a coupon code? He looked at me like, “What’s that?” Beaming with pride, I showed him yet another way to save money. With another tab opened, we searched Google for checksinthemail coupon codes. We found several, picked the one that would save us the most and put it in. New total – $21 and some change!!!!!!!!! For 20 check books. He was shocked and I almost busted with excitement.
All this saving just by searching for a coupon code. Save all the money you can from the convenience of your home.
